The oak used in this charcuterie board was reclaimed from barrels used to age whiskey from River Drive Cooperage. This board measures approximately 15-1/2 inches by 7-1/2 inches and is about 1/4" thick.
This board has been finished with an oil and wax finish that uses food grade ingredients, so it is entirely safe for direct food contact. The finish will need renewed periodically, Howard Butcher Block Conditioner is the product I recommend, 2oz bottle is included with your board. This is important to keep the wood from drying out, which can lead to warping, cracking, or splitting.
Clean your board with a damp cloth. If it needs further washing, try to avoid scrubbing. Never use abrasive or harsh cleaners to clean your board, and apply a fresh coat of conditioner as soon as it is dry. Do not use a dishwasher to clean. The use of bleach or bleach-like products can affect the color of the woods used in your board and are not recommended.
